Hearts to be Heard Book Contest

Hearts to be Heard Art Contest

Do you or your child have a disability and you have a dream of becoming an Illustrator?  Does your son or daughter have a dream of becoming an illustrator?  Does he or she love to draw and would they love to be recognized for their incredible talent?

We look forward to giving a voice to your heart-felt creativity.

HeartsToBeHeard.com is a wonderful place where desires of becoming a published author and sharing uplifting stories with the world can come true for those facing adversity such as a disability, illness, abuse, trauma, loss or a tragedy.

You should also enter if you are a child under the age of 16 (with your parent’s permission) and have a dream of becoming an illustrator for a book.

The type of art we are looking for is the interior pages and covers for children’s books, as well as covers for the adult books

Each of the stories will have a message to uplift and motivate their peers. This will leave the reader with a clear message of why they matter.

Contest Rules:

Anyone of the 5 books can receive submissions from someone outside of their age range, however subject to the guidelines below.  In other words, a 10 year old can create a submission for Book 1.

Each art contest submission will be created by someone under the age of 16 or an adult with a disability or a severe life adversity.

Hearts to be Heard will run this as a contest so not one single person assumes they are a natural “shoe in” to be included in any of the books.  The contest will include the cover designs also as well as illustrations.  It will be open to everyone under the age of 16 and over the age of 16 if they have a disability.

Each submission has the possibility of being part of a collaborative book or may appear on our website or in a magazine. It is at the discretion of Hearts to be Heard to determine who or what goes where.

If you have a picture and/or story you want to share with the world and if you have faced adversity such as a disability, illness, abuse, trauma, loss or a tragedy, then you may qualify.

Or if you are a child under the age of 16 and have a dream of becoming a published author, you may qualify.

Recipients are chosen either through nominations from an organization that supports individuals who have a disability and/or facing adversity or through individual applications.

Stories chosen to be published are all stories that engage the reader and leave them feeling up-lifted. They can either have a beautiful message to share or just be a wonderful story from the heart. Publications do not necessarily reflect the author’s personal journey with adversity. We are looking submissions for illustrating each of the first 3 books, as well as the book cover for all 5 books.
